Noida GST office has ordered Vodafone Idea (VIL) to pay "penalty of Rs 26,89,94,489 along with demand and interest as applicable" on September 1 for alleged "excess availment of ITC and short tax paid for FY 2019-20" by the company.
“In view of this, a need is felt to review and put in place provisions, including regulating tariff for SMS and Voice calls beyond a certain limit, to curb UCC (unsolicited commercial communication) from UTMs using 10-digit numbers (p2p).”
New Delhi: The government should enforce traceability and user privacy rules on WhatsApp, Telegram, Google Meet as well as other calling and messaging apps along with telecom operators as such platforms provide similar services using internet network, industry body COAI said.
