    A week ago, Trai was forced to extend the deadline for whitelisting — or registering with telecom operators — SMS content by a month to October 1, after pleas by telcos, banks and ecommerce firms that had warned of widespread disruption to delivery of commercial messages containing URLs, OTT links and call-back numbers.
