New Delhi: Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea—continued to suffer major customer losses for the third month in a row in September, even as state-run BSNL continued its addition spree, following the mobile tariffs hikes by the private telcos in early July.
However, analysts suggest that while BSNL and MTNL may continue to capture some market share due to their lower tariffs, they are unlikely to significantly challenge the dominance of Jio and Airtel in the long term.
Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, and Vodafone Idea suffered significant subscriber losses in August due to a sharp tariff hike in July, according to TRAI data.
Going forward, analysts expect Jio's AirFiber service to be a key catalyst for home broadband adoption, especially since the cost of CPE (customer premise equipment) has fallen over the last 2-3 years.
Indosat will utilise its experience in digital talent development, while Mastercard will offer its expertise in cybersecurity solutions and training, having delivered similar projects in various markets across Asia Pacific and globally.
