A Bloomberg report – citing anonymous sources familiar with the matter – suggested that Nokia has explored various scenarios, including selling part or all of the division, spinning it off, or merging with a competitor.
“While the use of AI creates many benefits such as improved customer service, optimised network operations, detecting new business opportunities, cost savings, and process automation, there are also numerous risks and challenges to be aware of,” explained Sarah McBride, Principal Analyst of Regulation at Omdia.
SK Telecom, for instance, is actively engaging with international operators like Deutsche Telekom to drive service innovation based on common standards through its Global Telco AI Alliance.

The collaboration aims to incorporate high-speed cellular-network technology into the Axiom Extravehicular Mobility Unit (AxEMU), enabling HD video, telemetry data, and voice transmission over multiple kilometres on the Moon’s surface.
The increasing complexity of the technology landscape is driving a need for greater specialisation across numerous verticals, including manufacturing, banking and finance, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and transport and logistics.
