A Bloomberg report – citing anonymous sources familiar with the matter – suggested that Nokia has explored various scenarios, including selling part or all of the division, spinning it off, or merging with a competitor.
SK Telecom, for instance, is actively engaging with international operators like Deutsche Telekom to drive service innovation based on common standards through its Global Telco AI Alliance.
“Supporting businesses to increase productivity and economic growth is critical,” the letter concludes, “and solutions which drive improvements in UK connectivity infrastructure will play an important role in achieving this.”
The collaboration aims to incorporate high-speed cellular-network technology into the Axiom Extravehicular Mobility Unit (AxEMU), enabling HD video, telemetry data, and voice transmission over multiple kilometres on the Moon’s surface.
“Tyche represents the first of an entire constellation of intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance satellites that we’ll launch over the coming years to rapidly increase support to the nation, and our sailors, soldiers, aviators, and civil servants who are so dependent on space,” Major General Paul Tedman concludes.
He calls for more comprehensive legislation to hold businesses accountable for improving the UK’s cyber preparedness and advocates for proactive strategies, secure-by-design principles, and enhanced visibility into organisational data flows, including encrypted information.
